Good Samaritan Foundation: Serving Ukraine’s Civilians with Faith and Action

The Good Samaritan Foundation—led by Bishop Denis Serdichenko and his wife Marina—has become a lifeline for thousands of civilians in Ukraine. From the earliest days of the full-scale invasion, Marina and Denis, together with their strong and dedicated team, chose not to flee—but to stay, serve, and lead.

Their mission is grounded in one unshakable belief: To serve people is to serve God. And they live it daily—providing humanitarian support to widows, children, and elderly Ukrainians across Odesa and beyond.

💙 A Foundation of Love, Not Fear

In 2022, Marina Serdichenko brought her children to safety in the U.S.—only to return weeks later to her husband and the mission she could not leave behind. “My place is next to him,” she said. “We are called to help others together.”

Together with a vast team of volunteers and faith leaders, they operate 91 humanitarian branches across Ukraine, especially in red zones from Odesa to Kharkiv.

🧺 Civilian Aid in Action

  • A private school and summer hub for displaced children, ensuring stability and education during war.

  • Psychological support and safe spaces for trauma healing.
