In June, Helping Ukraine US, together with our trusted partner Good Deeds (ДоброДій), hosted a life-changing healing camp for Ukrainian children in the peaceful Carpathian mountains.
For many of the 60 children who attended, this was the first time they could rest — not from sirens or shelling, but in true peace. These children, deeply affected by war, found safety, joy, and emotional support in a setting designed to help them begin to heal.
They played. They crafted. They laughed. With the guidance of trained volunteers and psychologists, they began to process what no child should have to face.
Some have lost parents in battle. Others come from de-occupied towns or live with the fear and trauma that war leaves behind. This healing camp for Ukrainian children offered more than just distraction — it gave them a space to reconnect with hope.
“I liked the camp. The gifts. The mosaic craft and the quest,” shared one young boy. “I want to say thank you. And thank you for the toy,” whispered another child.
