The village of Tsyrkuny, just 15 miles from the Russian border, was almost entirely destroyed after more than seventy days of brutal occupation by Russian forces. Internationally banned cluster munitions reduced homes, schools, and public spaces to rubble. Today, nearly 90% of the town remains in ruins.

And yet, despite this devastation, the people of Tsyrkuny are returning. Why? Because hope is stronger than destruction. Hope endures even in the face of unthinkable brutality.
So, HelpingUkraine.us (a registered 501(c)(3) in Atlanta) and Power in UA teamed up to bring something extraordinary to the children of Tsyrkuny: a new playground. But this is no ordinary play area; this is a sanctuary and a beacon of hope–a safe space where children enduring warfare can just be kids again.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we have since delivered the same transformative and life-affirming rebuilding effort to Vysochynivka, another village in eastern Ukraine where many internally displaced people live and whose children have endured the same devastating hardships of war. This new playground offers something for every child: areas for small kids, a proper playground, and even basketball, volleyball, and an outdoor gym for the older children, teenagers, and even adults.
Today, we are raising funds to build more playgrounds for children living in liberated areas of Ukraine.
