FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 08/01/2023

As summer comes to an end, parents around the country are preparing to send their kids back to school, returning to their normal schedules. HelpingUkraine.us is thinking about the children in Ukraine who are locked in a war zone, unsure if or when they will go to school this year. With the country in disarray and parents under immense stress, HelpingUkraine.us is determined to do all they can to help.

Through recent, generous donations to the fund, HelpingUkraine.us has a new goal to send 100 Ukrainian children to a summer camp in the mountains before school starts, away from the war-torn cities like Dnipro and Odessa. These kids will spend a week or two in safety, socializing with other children and getting a glimpse back into their lives before the war.

In recent weeks, Russia has been stepping up attacks on civilian targets. A 10-year-old girl and her mother were among 6 killed in an attack on President Zelensky’s hometown of Kryvyi Rih this past Sunday. HelpingUkraine.us is increasing their efforts to move children out of the danger zone, not just for their own safety, but also for their mental wellbeing.

“The grief and turmoil these children have experienced over the last year will certainly leave an indelible mark on their lives. We are working to provide relief with new opportunities for learning and moments of happiness with these summer experiences.” Declares Emory Morsberger, founder of HelpingUkraine.us.

Since June of 2022, HelpingUkraine.us has sent more than $4 million of medical supplies to 12 hospitals throughout the country and have provided shelter, clean water, and other necessities to 50 villages along the warfront. Efforts are currently underway to send three ambulances donated by Pafford EMS out of Jackson, Mississippi to Lviv, Ukraine, with shipping and logistics provided through a contribution of Wallenius Wilhelmsen and FODAC. Of course, the need is always growing, and our efforts continue. Boosting the spirits of these children is first and foremost on the minds of the HelpingUkraine.us team. Help us. Help Them.
